Clemson University Rowing Association was founded in 1988 by a very small group of enthusiastic individuals. The team, which has both a male and a female component, is comprised of students of all varieties of majors and rowing backgrounds. Most of the team had never rowed before joining the Clemson Crew. The team has its own boathouse situated five minutes from campus on Lake Hartwell, which provides ample opportunity for idyllic rowing conditions.
